Care and Planting Instructions

Eucalyptus likes full sun; well-drained fertile soil. Plant in the spring after all danger of frost has passed. Space plants 12-14″ apart in average soil that is well-drained. Plant height 24-36″.

Does well in containers or mixed pots. Solar mulch is recommended in areas with short growing seasons. The oil in its leaves repels insects.

Silver Drop Eucalyptus is a distinctive plant with round, bluish-green leaves that appear to be strung on their upright arching stems. Eucalyptus oil is used as an antiseptic, and to aid inhalation. It is beautiful in flower arrangements, whether fresh or dried. The most popular foliage for fresh, dried or preserved use. Grows well and is attractive when grown in containers.

Harvest after leaves start to feel leathery – 120-150 days. Easily preserves with glycerin. Dries extremely well. Entire plant can be harvested in the early fall before frost kills it.
