As everyone knows, herbs are not merely an ornamental addition to a garden; they are the spice of the world. The possibilities, as any chef will tell you, are endless. Cooking with herbs is becoming an ever-more popular pastime in the United States, whether it is to discover new uses for an old favorite like thyme, or to experiment with lesser-known plants such as comfrey or upland cress.
