Construction got off to a muddy start in September. Our good friend Gideon Powers helped us set the columns and trusses. This structure is manufactured by Nexus and the model is called a “Zephyr”. The idea is that the prevailing wind moving over the roof will help draw the hot air out of the roof vent whenever it’s open. Side wall vents also open. We’ve attached this one to houses 5&6 and it is separated by a retractable partition that will open and close according to the current temperature set point. The added roof space considerably increases our rain collection area. As of early December, 2016 we’re still waiting for some overhead equipment to arrive before we cover the floor and move the tables in. This will be an organic house for growing herbs.
